Pipitér Szigliget

“Three sentences about Szigliget? With that name? And there you have it – the three sentences.”

(Péter Esterházy, source: Gáspár Stekovics, Képpel/írott/táj, 2015)

Pipitér embodies all that we ourselves stand for and love in life: we have combined the charm of the old village of Szigliget, its architectural and natural heritage with urban comfort to offer you a soothing accommodation for body and soul in the Balaton-Felvidék region.

Pipitér is the brainchild of a couple of siblings and the childhood friend – they grew up in the valley of the Tatika and Rezi castles, just a house away from each other. The small settlement behind the Keszthely mountain range can be observed from the armchairs placed in front of the big glass wall of our gallery room (Csuri).
Sici is the face, the voice and the kindness, everything that personifies our accommodation, Zsolt is the brother who envisions and realises, and Balázs is the friend who built and currently runs the buildings as a ” detail owner ” and created some of the paintings and sculptures that decorate the walls.

Tradition and freshness in a historic environment

Situated in the heart of the Balaton-Felvidék National Park, our contemporary farmhouses with a 10-seater garden sauna house, two 5-seater jacuzzis, a community space, terrace and arbour await lovers of Lake Balaton, the rural lifestyle, the birdsong, art, and reimagined and sophisticated buildings.

The interior spaces of Pipitér also function as a gallery. Some of the contemporary paintings are also available for purchase.

Let yourself get lost in the intimate old village of Szigliget – through the pedestrian alleys between the houses – with a map drawn for you, a picnic bag on your back.

Beneath the cliffs of the Castle, among the vines, a century-old stone staircase, crumbling in places, leads to a terrace of ancient grass. There is a beautiful view from here – from the shade of the foliage of the fig bush, which grows continuously in summer and autumn – from the Badacsony mountain through the secret coastline called Soós Bay to the Keszthely Mountains. The initiated locals come here to recharge, hide from the noise of the world or quietly celebrate life.

We’ve packed you the travel essentials: a bag with a blanket, champagne, glasses, delicious snacks and the tiny map to get you to this unique place in 15 minutes,  so you can enjoy intimately all that makes Szigliget unique.

“Maybe I’m not here, I’m just dreaming:

I dream of Lake Balaton and myself beside it”.
